Pokemon Insurgence is a fangame for the Pokemon series based in a brand new region with fun mechanics such as, Delta Pokemon, Armored Pokemon, Secret Bases, Online Trading, Character customization and so much more. Pokemon Insurgence introduces the Torren Region, equipped with its own league, the Torren League. While the Gym Leaders retain the classic type-based themes for their teams, the Elite Four instead.

How can I download and install this game?
Go to the latest release post (it is always stickied at the top of this subreddit, and it is usually called something similar to '[Patch] Pokemon Insurgence X.Y.Z', where X, Y and Z are numbers), go to the 'Cores' section and download the file appropiate for your platform. Once that it is downloaded, unzip it.
How can I run this game?
Double click on 'Game.exe'.
What ROM is this game a hack of?
This game is not a ROM hack, it has been created on its own using RPG Maker XP and Pokémon Essentials. It is an .exe file, like most PC-based video games. This means that you don't need any extra programs to run it, and that it won't necessarily run on all platforms that can run ROM hacks.
What platforms are supported?
Downloads are provided for Windows and Mac. There are some music issues in Mac, but we are working on them. There is no native support for Linux; you can use Wine to run it, though we can't guarantee it will work 100%.
What about mobile platforms?
Mobile platforms such as Android, iOS or Windows Mobile are NOT supported. Android compatibility may change in the future since RPG Maker XP emulators do exist, but so far none are actually compatible. This will be changed if they do become compatible.
Will there be multiple save slots?
Yes! You can pick which save slot you wish to use from the main menu.

What mechanics does this game run on?
Generation 6! That includes Fairies, Powder-moves-not-affecting-Grass-types and so on. Generation 5 breeding mechanics are partially in use, but progress is being made to port them to Generation 6. Please note that most Pokémon movesets are from X/Y, but is also being ported to ORAS.
Will (insert Pokémon here) be in the game?
Yes. All 721 Pokémon will be available in the game.
What about Mega Evolutions?
Definitely, we are adding all of the official ones. Pokémon Insurgence also includes its own share of Mega Evolutions, which you can check in the wiki page for New Mega Evolutions.
What are the starters?
In Pokémon Insurgence, for your starter you can choose between Eevee, Delta Bulbasaur, Delta Charmander and Delta Squirtle.
What are Delta Pokémon?
Delta Pokémon are alternate versions of existing Pokémon that have been genetically altered to have different typing, abilities and learnsets. As a result of their mutation, Delta Pokémon are not able to breed. Check the wiki page to know the Delta Pokémon currently included in Pokémon Insurgence.
Will the game include Fakemon?
At this point, we are undecided if there will be Fakemon. If there are, they will likely be postgame.
Pokémon fan games are coming through to the mainstream more and more, and in good standing. Pokémon Insurgence is a new addition to the roster as an outstanding game with a deep plot, set in a new and exciting region that is slowly being overthrown by dangerous cults. Gameplay
As you would expect this game takes a lot of inspiration from existing Pokémon games, everything from Pokémon Blue to other fan games like Pokémon Uranium. As such, they share a great deal of movement and battle mechanics that you see in its progenitors.
Interestingly this also brings a few new features of its own, specifically secret bases and the introduction of Delta Species Pokémon. There is also a litany of online features found throughout, remember the secret bases from a sentence ago, well you can trade and speak with online players and create a team before inviting them over to your secret base for a fun little get together.
Story
This title seems to shy away from a lot of the “childish” themes that you could attribute to a normal Pokémon game. I’m not saying it doesn’t have them but it does swing closer to a “darker” and “Adult” theme with ideas like organised religion, cults of oppression, memory loss and death.
They have also done well to create, what seems to be, an almost entirely different system surrounding who the player is and what they are attempting to achieve. Instead of beating the big four and then the champion, the player is asked to defeat the previous heroes of the region and take their place as its defender against the cults. I won’t go any further into it to avoid spoilers but the concept is really cool.

They have managed to nail the art style here, it looks really great and this game, once again, shows that small development teams can do it too and then release it for free. The creativity, the characterization of the new region’s inhabitants alongside the region itself, is just brilliant. I have been really impressed by it and I’m sure you’ll love it.
This title is another brilliant example of how a small team of dedicated fans can make a game that is easily on par with its inspiration with little more than ingenuity and time. If you are after a new Pokémon adventure in the gaps between official releases, I’d highly recommend giving this one a go.
Pros:
- A darker and more adult theme.
- Interesting new world
- Great characterisation of the people in the world
- Introduction of new Pokémon
- Looks and feels like an official Pokémon game
Cons:
- A fair few bugs and glitches come up throughout but the developers are working on fixing them.
- The plot can slip into something derivative of a normal Pokémon game every now and then.
