Simpsons fans rejoice! This latest release from Radical Entertainment will have gamers champing at the bit. Apart from the 1991 arcade release from Konami, this is the first title not to fall under.

Fans of The Simpsons television show haven't received a console game to enjoy since the release of The Simpsons Game in 2007. However, a Simpsons showrunner is giving fans of the series hope for Hit and Run remastered.

The Simpsons Hit and Run was released way back in 2003 for GameCube, PS2, and Xbox. Since then, it has reached a large community of gamers who were fans of The Simpsons and Grand Theft Auto, as the game shared many similarities with the popular Rockstar Games franchise. Now, co-showrunner of The Simpsons Matt Selman is giving fans of Hit and Run hope for a remaster.

During a recent interview with IGN, Matt Selman confirmed that he would love to see a remastered version of The Simpsons Hit and Run. According to the co-showrunner, there are a lot of corporate details that would make remastering the classic game difficult, but there are people on the inside that would like to see it happen. Many fans have been clambering for a new Simpsons game and this doubtlessly fills them with hope.

Although Matt Selman isn't much of a gamer, the co-showrunner of The Simpsons has fond memories of working on The Simpsons Hit and Run. Apparently one of the big arguments in the development of the game was whether or not it would allow players to get out of their vehicles and roam around. The Simpsons Hit and Run gives players the flexibility to get in and out of their vehicles, but this was originally in question.

According to Matt Selman, many people were playing Grand Theft Auto when The Simpsons Hit and Run was made, which inspired the development of the game. The Simpsons Hit and Run is a sandbox action open-world developed by Radical Entertainment. The developers created a sandbox open-world Springfield that players could explore without restraint.

In order to remaster The Simpsons Hit and Run, the owners of The Simpsons IP would have to make the ultimate decision. Matt Selman claimed that a developer would also have to want to make the remaster, which may suggest that a different team than the original would be involved with the remaster. Selman has been involved in many Simpsons games, including The Simpsons Game, The Simpsons Tapped Out, and The SimpsonsHit and Run.

Radical Entertainment has also worked on titles such as Crash of the Titans, Prototype, and Scarface. The team had prior experience on Simpsons games with The Simpsons Road Rage which was heavily inspired by Crazy Taxi. Considering Radical Entertainment still exists, the developer may end up being called for a remaster of The Simpsons Hit and Run. With co-showrunner of The Simpsons being interested in a Hit and Run remastered, the title may have a future.

April fools :)

Hi, this was an April fools (sort of). Unfortunately, does not add VR into the game itself. If you came from the video then, what you saw is genuine VR which I recorded myself, but it was created in unity and not part of The Simpsons Hit & Run. I might continue to create this in Unity, however it isn't something I'd focus on.
I wasn't planning on this unity VR video and it was something I stitched together the day before April fools day, though I have had this whole mod itself planned for a good 2 weeks. This is why the video is rather short as, the full clip showed *more* imperfections. From closer inspection you can see it's not really the actual game, though I did managed to capture most of the features from it by importing them all into unity along with a bunch of animations + disabling shadows tweaking the lighting.
The original post (seen below) was completely fabricated in order to try to convince you this is a real thing. Even as down to the version changes. Sorry. :p
As for the mod itself which you can download, it is a mod and will work. I think it's rather humorous and is related to VR so I ask you to play it and see for yourself!
